Choose how you’d like to help financially support OSI. OSI is managed by the Science Communication Institute, a 501c3 nonprofit public charity (EIN 27-4690007). See SCI’s GuideStar listing for more details, or the SCI website at sci.institute. Financial contributions to OSI pass through SCI with no overhead charge (no deductions) and for US individuals and institutions may be tax deductible.
Sponsors provide the bulk of the support for OSI’s activities. Sponsorship amounts are typically in the $5,000 and up range but all amounts are welcome. Contact OSI’s program director for invoicing details (click the button below) and see the OSI about/support page for a list of current sponsors.
A new way to help as of Fall 2017! Institutional and individual members giving more than $500 annually receive one free pass to an upcoming OSI conference. Institutional members can also receive discounted advertising in RScomm.net (coming Jan 2018), and logo placement on all OSI websites and conference materials. Choose from monthly or annual giving plans.
We’re always on the lookout for leaders in government, academia, research, publishing, business, and other sectors who want to help shape the future of scholarly communication. If you’re interested, let us know (email the OSI program director by clicking below). OSI can only accept limited numbers of participants from each stakeholder group.
Beginning in 2018, OSI will be holding meetings around the world to discuss specific reform solutions in scholarly communication (as proposed by OSI participants) and/or meet with specific audiences such as researchers, government leaders or university provosts. If you have an idea for a meeting and would like to host it, please email the OSI program director (click on the button below).
Be a part of the solution. Help pilot new programs, collaborate with other universities and institutions on new approaches, help educate your institution about what’s happening in this space and more. Specific opportunities will be posted soon here and on the RScomm website (rscomm.net). Stay tuned!
